Daikoku Island, The Symbol of Muroran Port
You can disembark at this uninhabited island with a circumference of 700m at the entrance of Muroran
Port.
With a history dating back to the arrival of the British ship Providence in 1796,
it is also
known as Olson Island, remaining an enduring emblem of Muroran Port.
in its present appearance.
Constructed during the Meiji era, it served as a maritime guidepost until 1976, ensuring the safe passage of vessels in Muroran Port. While the tour doesn't include climbing to the top of the island, you'll have a close-up view of the island and the lighthouse from the entrance.
